MASTERCLASSES
You may have experienced, as I have, that masterclasses commonly fall into two broad categories: those that focus primarily on a player’s technique, and those that concentrate on interpreting the composition being performed. Both approaches are incredibly useful to the performer. However, I believe the most effective masterclasses address both. In short order, the masterclass is meant to give the student a clear, well-rounded perspective and inspire them to advance to the next level.
Beautiful interpretation requires reliable technique and a lovely tone, just as technical skill alone does not express the flutists’ understanding and expression of the music.
My goal is to help your student improve upon both, using your studio support and my perspective to help them confidently advance! I have amassed many tools to share with your flutists. My love of repertoire and experience in such varied performance styles and venues will help them find and improve their own voice. Let’s collaborate in your studio!
